Travel Tips

  • Wildlife encounters are common. Feeding animals is strictly prohibited. Do not leave the vehicle to observe large animals.
  • Smoking is strictly prohibited in hotel rooms. Violators may be fined CAD $300 or more.
  • Many hotels in the Rockies are 3–4 story wooden buildings without elevators. Smoking in national parks is strongly discouraged—only smoke in designated areas and do not litter cigarette butts.
  • For environmental reasons, hotels generally do not provide toothpaste, toothbrushes, slippers, or combs. Only body wash, shampoo, conditioner, and soap are provided.
  • Most hotel rooms in North America do not have kettles. Please ask the front desk for hot water if needed, or use the coffee machine properly.
  • Scenic areas do not provide hot (boiled) drinking water. Please prepare before leaving the hotel.
  • Canada uses 110V voltage with three-prong plugs (one round pin on top, two parallel flat pins below).
  • We strongly recommend purchasing travel medical insurance (including cancellation coverage) before joining the tour.
